Bakers' and Confectioners' Springtime Meeting -
BAKEPOL Baking and Confectionery Industry Fair

The second edition of Bakepol Baking and Confectionery Fair will be held on 24-28 April 2009. Reaching out to meet the expectations of all companies - especially those based in south- east Poland - Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie is organising the meeting in Kielce in order to make it easier for entrepreneurs from that region to visit the exhibition. The show will last as long as five days - from Friday to Tuesday - enabling bakers and confectioners employed in smaller companies to participate, as it might be difficult for them to take a weekday off.

Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie organises bakers' and confectioners' trade meetings both in Poznań and in Kielce. In even years - in September - the Exhibition of Baking and Confectionery Industry is held as part of Polagra-Tech International Trade Fair of Food Processing Technologies in Poznań, while in odd years - in April - Bakepol takes place in Kielce.

Despite the challenging socio-economic situation, Bakepol shows that the bakery and confectionery sector is still thriving, enjoying dynamic growth. During this year's fair, around 130 companies from Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Slovakia and Turkey will showcase their solutions on an exhibition area expanded by 60 percent, compared with the previous edition. The list of exhibitors will include all major industry leaders: manufacturers, importers and distributors of raw materials, baking and confectionery additives, machines and devices for making breads, cakes, pastries, cocoa, chocolate products and sweets, machines for product forming, dosing and packaging, bread slicers, baking ovens, product packaging and storage systems, as well as transport means.

Forum for exchanging knowledge and experiences

A professional trade show serves as a platform where experts can share their knowledge and experiences.

In the bakery and confectionery market, there is a growing competition between industries and enterprises. Consumers are frequently making purchasing decisions influenced by emotional factors, which is why referring only to rational premises fails to deliver expected results. On Monday, 27 April, Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie and the Polish Association of Food Industry Engineers and Technicians (SITSpoż) are organising a panel meeting with a renowned lecturer, Professor Henryk Mruk from the Poznań University of Economics. The subject of this discussion will be: "Methods of building the position of a bakery in a market competition environment". Panel participants will probably find a number of ready ideas helping ensure stronger market position for their brands.

Thanks to the cooperation of the Republic of Poland Baking Craftsmen Association and the Polish Association of Confectioners, Caramel Makers and Ice Cream Makers, throughout the fair visitors will have an opportunity to see demonstrations involving the preparation of bakery and confectionery goods for the catering sector. This place will provide compelling evidence for the thesis that bakery is now an art rather than merely a craft. In addition to tried and tested solutions, the Baking Craftsmen Association will show the possibilities of employing cutting-edge technologies and improved recipes, along with their applications in gastronomy. On the other hand, the Association of Confectioners will present finely decorated and heavenly delicious products made of caramel, chocolate and marzipan. Wedding cakes prepared and decorated on site will undoubtedly please visitors' senses.

Exhibitors present...

Trade shows create an invaluable opportunity to showcase a company and its achievements. From the point of view of both exhibitors and fair guests, new products and market launches make an attractive form of advertising, especially when extensively promoted by the organisers. Bakepol 2009 will feature no fewer than 85 debuting products, which obviously reflects the attractiveness of the exhibition. Moreover, each day visitors can expect to see interesting demonstrations prepared by exhibitors. Visits to exhibition stands will be more entertaining thanks to presentations of various machines designed for baking bread rolls, baguettes, challah, Italian breads and regular baked goods, as well as methods of making and decorating doughnuts, waffles, and many other delicacies. Fair guests will also become familiar with methods of packaging breads, grilled baguettes, pastries, etc. Last but not least, all connoisseurs and gourmands will find something delicious for themselves at Bakepol, being able to taste hot, fresh, aromatic baked goods straight from the oven.
